Converse Police and FBI arrest San Antonio woman in Murder for Hire Plot

 

San Antonio, Texas, - Ralph G. Diaz, Special Agent in Charge of the San Antonio Division of the FBI, and Chief Rick Jamison of the Converse Police Department, announced today the arrest of 29 year old Heather Ann Souza of San Antonio, TX, for her involvement in a Murder for Hire plot uncovered in January, 2007.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. today, Souza was arrested without incident at her residence located in the 5100 block of Eisenhauer Road, San Antonio, Texas. The arrest was based upon a federal complaint and warrant issued on January 31, 2007, which details Souza’s violation of Title 18 of the United States Code, Section 1958(a), entitled; “Use of Interstate Commerce Facilities in the Commission of Murder for Hire. Later today, Souza is scheduled to appear before a United States Magistrate Judge for an initial appearance and possible detention hearing. If detained, Souza will be turned over to the custody of the United Sates Marshal’s Service for further processing and housing at a local federal detention center.

If convicted, Souza could be sentenced up to 10 years in federal prison, and be fined up to $250,000.

A criminal complaint is an accusation of criminal conduct and is not evidence. A defendant is presumed innocent until convicted through due process of law.
