$5,000,000.00 Reward for Information Leading to the Arrest of Jorge Eduardo Costilla Sanchez

Ralph G. Diaz, Special Agent in Charge of the San Antonio Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and Alonzo Pena, Special Agent in Charge, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), have announced the availability of a $5,000,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of Jorge Eduardo Costilla Sanchez. He is charged with twelve drug and money laundering charges as well as one charge of assault of a Federal Officer, stemming from indictments returned from the Southern District of Texas.

It is believed that Costilla-Sanchez now heads the Gulf Coast Drug Cartel, formerly led by Osiel Cardenas Guillen. The Gulf Cartel is responsible for the importation and distribution of thousands of kilograms of cocaine and marijuana into the United States annually and therefore, Costilla-Sanchez is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The United States Department of State is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information directly leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Jorge Eduardo Costilla-Sanchez, who is described as follows:

Approximate Age: 36

Remarks: Costilla-Sanchez may be staying in Northern Mexico, possibly in Matamoros. He may also be sporting a mustache.

Mr. Diaz wished to thank the United States Department of State; The United States Attorneys Office, Southern District of Texas; Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their invaluable assistance in this investigation.
