FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN SAN ANTONIO INDICTS RAYMOND GAGNON FOR
POSSESSION AND TRANSPORTATION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
United States Attorney Johnny Sutton announced that a Federal grand jury in San Antonio today charged Raymond Gagnon with possession and transportation of child pornography.
The indictment alleges that Gagnon transported child pornography in April 2007. In addition, it alleges that he possessed a computer which contained child pornography on July 1, 2008.
Upon conviction, Gagnon faces up to ten years in federal prison and a maximum $500,000 fine on the possession charge and up to five years in federal prison and a maximum $250,000 fine on the transportation charge.
This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation together with the Vermont State Police. Assistant United States Attorneys Tracy Thompson Braun and William R. Harris are prosecuting this case on behalf of the Government.
An indictment a formal accusation of criminal conduct, not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until convicted through due process of law.
