OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 151 MONTHS IN FEDERAL PRISON
United
States Attorney Johnny Sutton announced today that 55-year old
Robert D.J. Robinson was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison and
ordered to pay $1,265.00 in restitution for robbing the Guaranty Bank
in Waco last year.
On December 12, 2006, Robinson walked into a Guaranty Bank in Waco and
presented a bank robbery demand note to a bank teller. The note read:
“Do as this note tells you to do. Don’t make me hurt no one. Cause if
you do you will be this frist one I hurt. Just give me the money. Don’t
give me no dye pack in it or any tracer in the money. Don’t be a fool
and start any probelms. Don’t pull no alarms till I am out of here. Thank
you have a nice day Merry Xmas 100's, 50s, 20s, 10s & 5's only. No 1s
or change. Hurry up don’t be stalling me. I am not dumb. It only takes
seconds.”
The bank teller complied with the robber’s demand and handed him $1,265.00
in United States currency. The next day, Robinson was positively identified
by the bank teller from a photo spread.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and
was prosecuted for the government by Assistant United States Attorney
Greg Gloff.
